    “Dear Members of the Rialto Unified Educational Community: At its regular meeting on May 8, 2024, the Board of Education took action to place Superintendent Dr. Avila on non-disciplinary paid leave effective immediately. Dr. Edward D’Souza has agreed to serve as Acting Superintendent. Dr. Ed D’Souza knows our District and has over 40 years in 㽶Ƶ with a demonstrated commitment to student achievement and equity. The Board is confident in Dr. Ed D’Souza’s ability to lead the District at this moment and deeply appreciates his willingness to do so. We know that many of you will have questions. This action, however, is a confidential personnel matter. As a result, to respect the Superintendent's employee privacy rights, the Board, its individual members, and District staff will refrain from providing comment.     Welcome to the beginning of an amazing new school year!


    With the 2024-2025 school year now underway, we are excited to welcome families back with open arms. Our goal is to create an inspiring learning environment where both 㽶Ƶ and staff members thrive, feeling valued, supported, and safe.


    This year promises to be a monumental journey filled with opportunities for academic excellence, personal growth, and community engagement. We are immensely proud of our successes in various areas, including our acclaimed Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program and outstanding academic achievements. Rialto High 㽶Ƶ's Academic Decathlon Team earned first place competing in academics on the Super Quiz against at least 35 other schools. Our Early College Program continues to flourish, offering high school 㽶Ƶ the chance to embark on their higher 㽶Ƶ journey ahead of time. 


    Would you like your child to be part of the Rialto 㽶Ƶ District, a state and nationally-recognized beacon of 㽶Ƶal excellence? Our Enrollment Center is here to assist you in enrolling your student(s) throughout the year.
